Helpful ways to pay for college

Too often students assume they are not eligible for financial assistance, so they don't even apply. However, the only way to know if you're eligible for 援助 is to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for 联邦 Student Aid). The FAFSA is free to complete and will inform students of their 援助 eligibility for the upcoming academic year. 

**Important FAFSA Update**

01/30/2024 Update: The 2024-25 FAFSA is now live and available for students and their families to complete. Schools are set to receive completed FAFSA information in mid-March 2024. Please note that no corrections can be made to the FAFSA at this time. We will notify the community when this option becomes available. There have been many changes to the FAFSA for 2024-25, so please read the application carefully and double-check your information before hitting 提交.

Types of financial 援助

By filing the FAFSA, you could be eligible for:

• 联邦 grants — federal financial 援助, such as the 联邦 Pell Grant, that does not have to be 偿还;
• PA state grants — state financial 援助 that does not have to be 偿还;
• Scholarships and awards — institutional financial 援助 that does not have to be 偿还;
• 联邦 work study — part-time employment that helps finance your education;
• 贷款 — borrowed money that must be rep援助 with interest;
• Tax credits and deductions.
